June 13 @ Archeworks

We at Converge : Exchange are excited to announce the release of a video short of the Converge:Exchange Symposium from March which will be presented at the ADPSR event at Archeworks for the Mumford Awards on June 13th at 6pm.

The video is a short overview / sampling of the various conversations and exchanges with all of you. We are in the final moments of editing It is thrilling, to say the least, to revisit the excitement & insight that Converge:Exchange brought to the surface.

Our plan is to have another event later in the year that will give a chance for more discussion and more opportunities for video interviews, and we will let you know when plans become fixed (please pass along suggestions…). Those that can not join us at the ADPSR event will be able to find the video on this website in the near future. We will send an announcement when it becomes available online.

Hope to see you there - Mike

Our conversations ranged from ‘greening food deserts’ and ‘starting CDC design centers’ to ‘balancing pro-bono practice & paying the bills’ and ‘building a public-health model for designers’.

The symposium generated a great deal of support for this dialogue about Public-Interest design. We are dedicated to continuing this timely conversation in Chicago. If you have suggestions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch: share@convergexchange.org.

If you were not able to attend the event, there is a recount of the symposium on the blog of one of our participant groups: Urban Habitat Chicago.
